Malamute Pup Ornament

Good Morning Ladies,
I seem to be having a hard time posting this week. I have no idea why. The rain outside is not helping my motivation.

This ornament is created on a paper mache' base. The snowflake background paper is from DCWV. The snowflake dies are cut from a Spellbinders die set. The Malamute puppy is and image from Posh Impressions. He is stamped on Bristol paper and hand cut. Ribbons and bells top this ornament off.

Use layers
Use something that can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
She has so many cool new things in her store!
Here is my card.....
This card started with the Memory Box die Nestled Bird #817. I love this little bird die and have used it over and over again. I purchased this die from Joan. Then came the layers. I picked the Memory Box dies Twiggy Tree #98143 and Heart Canopy #98283. I purchased both of these dies from Joan. The red hearts are created by placing a piece of red cardstock under the craft color layer that is cut with the  heart canopy die. The twiggy tree is cut from dark brown cardstock. The red bird is cut from foil card stock. There is three Corrugate layers from two different DCWV pads. A thin brown ribbon in three strands knotted is layered on top of the corugate. Whiff of Joy Blue Jay

Good Morning Ladies,
I am a little late this morning. I was surfing the rubber stamp chat virtual stamp convention. I did place one order. Always looking for something new.
Today my card is Whiff of Joy Blue Jay .
This was a fun image to work with. He was stamped on Bristol paper with Memento ink. He was colorized with Copic markers, Prisma pencil, Gamsol, and a star dust pen. He was then cut out with a Spellbinders die set. A matching red cardstock was added beneath him. I used dsp from a Christmas DCWV stack. This was one I didn't think I would use. But the colors were just right for this bird. The Christmas light at the top of the card is an image from the stamps of life. It is glitter with stickles and the screw end is colorized with a silver deco art pen. The bottom of the card features glitter ribbon and pearl drop trim.
A close-up of the pearl drop trim.
This is the inside sentiment. It is from the same stamps of life set. I outlined the lettering with the star dust pen.

Vintage Cut Top Hat Bulldog

Good Morning Ladies,
I woke up this morning with a headache. Not to fear, I picked up some aspirin a couple of weeks ago. I seem to be getting some relief already.
The card I have for you today is Vintage Cut Top Hat Bulldog
I am having so much fun with these vintage cuts. I love old things and I love using old things to make something new. Of course I add new things to the old. So here is the card....
I picked a vintage label Spellbinders die to use with this bulldog. It reminds me of a cigar label. That is so fitting for a bulldog wearing a top hat. I cut this label using royal blue cardstock and white Bristol paper. The sentiments are from a clear set from The Stamps of Life. This is one club I am so glad I joined. You get so many sentiments you can use with other images. The clock is a flat back button.
This is the inside sentiment.

Snow Day

Good Morning Ladies,
Yesterday was a cold one. And the weather ranged from sunshine to rain to snow. Gotta love northern Indiana. I spent the day chilled from the damp cold weather. So in honor of all of the school kids I have created a card called Snow Day and here it is.
The snowboarder image is from CTMH. This is an old wood mounted set. If they bring back any sets this would be one of them. It was stamped on Bristol paper in black Memento ink. It was then colorized using copic markers. A star dust pen was used to colorize the goggles. It was then cut with a Spellbinders die set as well as the blue corragated paper below. The snowboarder piece was mounted on the card using an action wobble. Another perfect use for an action wobble. This was mounted on a base of royal blue cardstock and a DSP snowflake paper from a DCWV stack. A royal blue glitter ribbon was added to the bottom of the card. A white glitter snowflake that was cut with a Spellbinders die set tops this card off.
A picture of the rise from the action wobble.
This is the inside sentiment.

Vintage Cuts Sprite Birthday

Good Morning Ladies,
I was not liking the early snow coming yesterday. Snow is my least favorite season. Yes I think of it as a season. It's the cold season. Bring my fall back!
My card today is bright to bring some warmth to this day. It is a Vintage Cuts Sprite Birthday card. Here it is....
This is a 6 x 6 card. I found crystal sleeve that I can put 6 x 6 cards in. So now I can make more cards of this size. My base card stock is orange and green. The large yellow doily die is from Cheery Lynn. The embossed vintage cut sprite sits on this die cut. Such a cute little fellow. The orange die cut on the bottom right is cut from a Spellbinders die set. It is stamped with a sentiment from Stampin' Up and has five pearls to accent it. My flowers were created using two different Cheery Lynn dies and a Sizzix die. The leaves underneath them are cut from a Cheery Lynn die and the edges are inked in brown to lift them away from the green showing through. Crystal sprigs top this card off.
 A close-up of the sprite.
A close-up of the circle sentiment.
 A close-up of the flowers.

This is the inside sentiment. It is from The Stamps of Life.

Happy Hump Day Ornament

Good Morning Ladies,
Wow! It's a cold one out there. My friend came yesterday and winterized my camper for me. It is now ready for winter storage. It will be a long time til spring comes around and I can be on the road again with Windy's house on wheels.
It seems that hump day has been brought back from what... Was it the 70's or the 80's?? I don't know but in my vintage cuts I had a camel. So I made a Happy Hump Day Ornament for you today. And here it is...
This is a one and only. The base is a paper mache' ornament. It is covered in brown card stock and edged with a gold art deco pen. The camel image is from my new stash of vintage embossed cuts. A blue ceramic tile star above the camels head finishes the ornament out. Both sides of this ornament are the same. Blue and brown ribbons with bells are added to the top. The sides are glittered in blue.

Happy Hump Day!

Skier Ornament

Good Morning Ladies,
I am working on Christmas ornaments most everyday now. Christmas will be upon us that create sooner than we think. The blue Christmas tree will be going back into my booth at the Co-Op Shoppes soon. It needs to be covered in sparkling goodness.
I have an ornament for you today... Skier Ornament
This ornament was started with a paper mache' base. It was covered in snowflake DSP from a DCWV stack. The skier image is from CTMH. It is an older wood mounted set. I stamped the skier on Bristol paper in black Memento ink. He was then colorized with Copic markers. His ski mask was colorized with stardust pen. The snow under his skis was created using liquid pearls. He was then cut with a Spellbinders die set. I created a gold edge on the snowflake paper using a gold leaf Deco Metallic pen. The sides of the ornament were covered in red glitter. Ribbons with bells attached to the ends were tied at the top of the ornament.

Whiff of Joy Caroler

Good Morning Ladies,

My card for today is Whiff of Joy Caroler
The Whiff of Joy images are so fun and cute! I stamped the image on Bristol paper using Memento ink. Whe was then colorized with Copic marker, Prisma pencil, Gamsol, stardust pen, liquid pearls, and stickles. She is cut with a sizzix thinlits die set with a matching oval in glitter paper. King Charles Spaniel

Good Morning Ladies,
It's Saturday! I think I will be getting laundry done today. Work this afternoon. And just maybe I will get to watch Antique Roadshow tonight.
My card for today is King Charles Spaniel...
This King Charles Spaniel stamp is unmounted rubber from The Rubber Cottage. I picked this up at the Fort Wayne show. The Rubber Cottage has awesome stamps. I stamped him on Bristol paper with black Memento ink and colorized him with Prisma pencil and Gamsol. He was then cut with a Spellbinders die set. Another die cut was added in denim blue. This sits on a dsp of dots and paw prints. This is a simple card. I wanted to show case the dog and show the paw prints on the dsp as well.

Joan's Challenge Pink and White Flowers

Good Morning Ladies,
I broke down this morning and turned the heat on. It was only 60 degrees in the house and that is just too cold for me.
Another week has flown by. It's time for the new challenge at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
You can see and enter the challenge here: http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2013/10/this-weeks-challenge.html
These are the requirements for this week:
Pink and White only
Use flowers any kind. Can even be in paper
Something curvy, vines, fourishes
You must use something that can be purchased at Joan's
Here is my card Joan's Challenge Pink and White Flowers
When I saw this challenge I knew I was going to use the Poppy Stamps die #879 Labrador. I purchased this die from Joan and it is a favorite of mine. I cut him in darker pink textured card stock. I created a little scene around him. The fence is cut from white pearl card stock. The fence die is from Cheery Lynn #B123 Victorian Picket Fence. Another favorite die I purchased from Joan. I used Cheery Lynn die #B117S Mini Fanciful Flourish behind my flowers. I also purchased this die from Joan. A pretty flourish die that is sized right for cards. My flowers are two different kinds. The roses were created using a Sizzix bigz die. The other flowers are flat backs. At the top of the card I used one of my new dies from Joan. It is memory box die Night Sky Border #98682. When I saw this die on the website I knew I just had to have it. It is so unique and can be used in so many scene cards. I thought it was the perfect final touch to this pink and white card.
This is a close-up of my flowers and flourishes.
Another great challenge. Thanks Joan this one is so much fun!

Wing In A Sling

Good Morning Ladies,
Dude and I had fun at agility class last night. It was good to get out and enjoy some fun time.
My card today is created with a couple of stamps I purchased while I was at the stamp convention in FT. Wayne. The company is Cracker Box Palace. My card for today is Wing In A Sling .
My great niece broke her elbow before I went to the convention. Poor little thing. I found these stamps that were just perfect for a get well card for her. The background DSP is from a DCWV stack. By the way her favorite colors are pink and yellow. I stamped the bird with Memento ink on Bristol paper. It was colorized using Copic Markers. It was then cut with a spellbinders die set as well as the yellow mat below. I mounted the bird piece onto the card with an action wobble to make it fun. The pink roses were created using a sizzix die. The 3-d flat back flower buttons I picked up on the internet. Behind the flowers I added a pearl sprig.
This is a close-up to show the height of the action wobble.
This is the inside companion sentiment to the bird in a sling.

Joan's Challenge Christmas Corners

Good Morning Ladies,
It's Wednesday already. The weeks seem to be going by quickly this year. I have another card for Joan's Challenge Christmas Corners today.
Here is the link to the challenge: http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2013/10/this-weeks-challenge-with-guest-designer.html
The requirements this week are as follows:'
Use corners
Use a ribbon
Use Stocking, gloves, snowflakes anything to do with Christmas
Use something that can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
Here is my card ....
This card is a little busier than the one earlier this week.  A different style for the same challenge. My two lowest layers are from an Anna Griffith Christmas pad. The next layer is a piece of La Blanche paper that I purchased at Joan's. I stamped a La Blanche flourish and music notes stamp randomly over the paper. I purchased the La Blanche stamp at Joans. I then took a make-up sponge and a Tim Holtz distressed in pad in Vintage Photo and sponged the whole paper creating a background paper. You can purchase Tim Holtz distressed ink at Joan's also. The angel image is from Wiff Of Joy. I stamped this on Bristol paper and colorized the angel using Prisma pencil, Gamsol, Spica Marker in gold, and Stickles. The angel was then hand cut. For my corners I used a holly berry stamp set from Heartfelt Creations that I purchased at Joan's. I stamped it four times on Bristol paper and colorized it with Copic markers. These were then hand cut. For the ribbon I used a textured shiny gold ribbon and  a thin red ribbon and tied them together in a bow. I added jingle bells to the red ribbon. I love jingle bells. I have always loved them. I'm not quite sure what it is about them but when I hear them they just make me smile!
A close-up of my corners.
A better view of the angel.

This is the inside of my card. It was created using a Spellbinder die set and a sentiment from an inkadinkado clear set.
This has been a really fun challenge! Thanks Joan!

Motivet Reindeer Ornament

Good Morning Ladies,
Friday is here already! Time is flying by this week. I have not even had time to play with the wonderful things I bought last weekend. I am hoping to get a good amount of time to play this weekend.
My project for today is Motivet Reindeer Ornament Here it is:
This reindeer image is from Motivet. I love their stamps! I stamped this guy on Bristol paper with black Memento ink and colorized him with Prisma pencil, Gamsol, and Spica pens. The DSP he is sitting on is from DCWV. I took a Marvy gold paint pen and went around the edges of the paper once it was mounted on the ornament base. Tied at the top are red ribbons. Two jingle bells are attached to the ribbons to top this ornament off. Both sides of the ornament are the same. The edge is covered in real red glitter from art institute.

The wedding couple was the inspiration for this card. It is a vintage embossed cut. This is layered on two pieces of cardstock. Of course a wedding card needs roses. Joan's Challenge torn edges

Good Morning Ladies,
It's a bit chilly out there this morning. It's a bit chilly in here this morning.
I did not think I would get a challenge card done this week, but I have. Joan's Challenge torn edges was fun!
You can see and enter the challenge here....http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2013/10/card-by-joan.html
The requirements this week are as follows:
Purple and Green
Torn Edges
Layers
You must use a product sold at Joan's
Here is a link to Joan's so you can shop all the wonderful things she has http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
Here is my card....
When I think of this style I think of La Blanche stamps. I purchased this La Blanche stamp at Joan's. I stamped it on La Blanche paper that I also purchased at Joans. It was colorized using nibs. I used Tim Holtz inks. Joan sells these also. The colors I used were Pumice Stone, Mowed Lawn, Dusty Concord, and Walnut Stain. The edges are torn on this piece. I used a grey cardstock for the base card. I have two other layers created from the new corrugate cardstock pack from DCWV. I am sure Joan can order this for you. This was hard to find for a while as no one was making it anymore. Now it's back. I tore the edges on both of these pieces and inked them where I tore them. I then used Tim Holtz white picket fence stain to add accents on the layers. I used green tulle to create a bow. I added a rolled rose created from a Sizzix die. At the bottom I added two green flat back flowers.
I only attached the center of the layers as Joan suggested. I love it!

Vintage Embossed Cut Appaloosa Horse Ornament

Good Morning Ladies,
I was gone over the weekend at the Fort Wayne stamp show. I had a great time! It was a little damp for the camping part but the weather was warm. So it was not to bad. The stamp show was wonderful. I added quite a few things to my creative bag. It is always fun to see all of the samples made by the companies, Cracker Box Palace was there. Their line of stamps are a hoot!
Today I have a Vintage Embossed Cut Appaloosa Horse Ornament for you...
This ornament is double sided with the other side being the same as this one. The background for the horse is a blue graduated design. The Appaloosa horse is a vintage embossed cut. A painted horse so to say with tepees in the background. Navy ribbon is tied at the top with jingle bells hanging from two of the ribbons. The side is glittered using two sided sticky tape.
This is the side of the ornament showing the glitter.
Happy Scraps,
Mrs. Swandog
