Tim Times Ten Grand Give-A-Way Challenge: Day Three

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Today's challenge is a Steampunk Tag. We have to create a steampunk tag that includes sponging and heat embossing techniques somewhere in the tag. The design must include a key, 3 arrows, and a pointing hand. At least one of the elements listed must be a metal embellishment and one stamped image must be hand cut. This is day #3. Visit Stampin' Dymoz challenge site to see all the tags.http://www.stampindymonz.com/2011/04/tim-times-ten-grand-give-way-challenge_30.html
Here is my day 3 challenge tag....

I have never attempted steampunk before and this is what I came up with. I sponged my tag with the tim holtz  distress inks walnut stain and broken china. I then stamped and embossed an planetary stamped with versa-mark and Ranger embossing antiquities powder cobalt blue. I cut the houses die-cut from the tim holtz sizzix die and sponged it with tim holtz distressed ink in pine needles. I stamped the pointing hand in black on tan cardstock and cut it out. This stamp is from a pinkpaislee clear set. The arrows are stamped and cut out. I added a touch of stickles to the arrows.  I stamped and cut out wings from the tim holtz clear stamp set artful things. I stamped and cut out the wierd boy doll from viva las vegas stamps. I attached the boy to the wings with pop dots. My third arrow is copper rhinestone from Kaiser. The key is metal from an unknown source. For the tag tie I took tim holtz nostalgic tissue tape and folded it in half and sponged broken china ink on it. I used my tim holtz tiny tape gun dispenser for the first time. It's not only cute but if functions well.

Tim Times Ten Grand Give-A-Way Challenge: Day Two

Good Afternoon Ladies,
Stampin' Dymonz Tim Times Ten Give-A-Way challenge day two is here. The requirements are masking, shimmer or sheen, and busy bee. This is the link to the day two challenge.  http://www.stampindymonz.com/2011/04/tim-times-ten-grand-give-way-challenge_29.html
Here is my take on the day two tag....
For starters I had to use a tattered angels screen...I have put my Tim Holtz masks away somewhere and could only find the seasons one. It had nothing on it that would go with this project. I laid the screen down on my tag and used the tim holtz alcohol daubber and the Tim Holtz distressed in in broken china. For my sheen I used a radiant rain daubber in bronze and dabbed it all over the tag. To this base I added a bee jewelry charm from the explorer edition by Traditions. The flower was created using Tim Holtz grunge paper, radiant rain daubbers and blue plastic crystals. I used a second smaller tag that I inked with the Tim Holtz distressed ink pads in broken china and vintage photo. I hand wrote Bee Creative. I attached the small tag with a tim holtz clip. Fiber tops off this tag.
I was so happy yesterday when I won the first challenge. I am also happy that I am getting to use my tim holtz stash. Stampin' Dymonz is a great inspiration!

Tim Times Ten Grand Give-A-Way Challenge

Good Afternoon Ladies,
I am going to dive into Stampin' Dymonz Tim Times Ten Give-A-Way challenge. This is day one and here is my tag. The theme is Nostalgic Tag. For this tag I inked the tag with Tim Holtz distressed ink in vintage photo. I cut the clock out of the Tim Holtz lost and found paper stash. I added a big brad and two of the Tim Holtz pins for the hands on the clock. A requirement for this tag was torn paper, so I took the backside of the clock paper and tore it and stamped the saying from the Tim Holtz clear stamp set Artful Things. The stamped bird at the top of this clock came from this same set. I stamped and cut the bird out of tanish paper. I tore the top and the bottom of the vintage photo that also came from the lost and found paper stash. To top this tag off I added ribbon to the bottom of the tag and also used it as the tie at the top. I added the button to the bottom of the tag.

It's a dog's life

Good Morning Ladies,
It's not raining this morning. I was thinking I should stop crafting and start building an ark. LOL I think we have had enough rain for awhile. On the up side the grass sure is green and that is a pretty sight.
Let's see what have I been up to...well...on my trip to Joan's Garden I picked up a few more Heartfelt Creations sets. I also picked up on of the new doily dies. These dies are so cool. It cut like a breeze. So look for these in upcoming samples here on my blog and on cards in my artfire store.
The sample for today is a dog card. A little different I know, but you know how I love dogs! This card was created using rubber stamps from three companies. It's a dog's life and the paw prints are clear stamps. The fire hydrant is a rubber stamp. The background paper is from Kaiser. To top this card off I added a ribbon and a pug mini ornament.

Well...off to get Sam going for school...

This card sample was created using the heartfelt creations die window I purchased at Joan's Garden the last time I was there. I die-cut the window using white textured cardstock. I then colorized it using ink. The paper is from K&Company. The quote reads "Man's heart away from NATURE becomes hard. Standing Bear" The flower is a Prima. The giraffe image is from Mostly Animals and is colorized using Prisma color pencil and Gamsol.
Well....off to  e-mail Misty

Home Decor blog hop

Welcome to my blog. I am participating in Faith:  http://faithfulecreations.wordpress.com/  Faith's Home Decor blog hop. Gill:  http://creationsbygillm.blogspot.com/
The above is the blog that you should have arrived here from. Your next stop should be Tiara:  http://imacraftysista.blogspot.com/

This is the project I created for this hop....

This is a wall mirror. I started with an unpainted wood mirror. I used two coats of gesso on the mirror frame to start with. I then added a coat of light tan acrylic paint. The feathers are torn napkins. I applied these feather napkin pieces with US Art Quest matte PPA. I inked a tag with brown ink and stamped the words on the tag. The words are from stampscapes. I stamped an owl image by stampabilities onto a piece of bristol board with black memento dye ink. The owl is colorized with Prisma color pencil and blended with Gamsol. I attached the owl with the PPA. I adhered pieces of sawed twigs that I purchased at Wal-Mart. When all the pieces were attached to the frame I brushed the whole thing with PPA.  I went outside my house and gathered fallen twigs and tied the together with african jute and then hot glued them to the frame.
I had purchased the mirror awhile back and just had not worked on it yet. Faith's blog hop inspired me to get this started and finished.
