Halloween Tree

Good Morning Ladies,
The weather looks a little iffy out today. Looks like it may rain. I did get out a little yesterday and took some new journals and a couple of vintage hats with hat boxes up to the Co-op Shoppes. My booth looks great since the girls worked on it.
The card for today is Halloween Tree
This card was created using a wood mounted stamp from Northwoods. It was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolor crayons. The ghosts were done in stickles. The panel was backed in a blue textured paper from the Paper Cut. The card base was covered in paper from my stash. A ribbon tied at the bottom tops this card off.
The inside sentiment is from a clear set from Martha Stewart.

Butterfly Sympathy

Good Morning Ladies,
I have been a bit under the weather the last few days. I am still feeling a little iffy today. So that is why I have been MIA.
The card for today is Butterfly Sympathy
This card was created using a stencil from my stash. It is one from Hobby from several years ago. A panel was cut from watercolor paper. The panel was brushed with water and then color was added using a Mica Pallet from US Art Quest. The butterflies were then stenciled using FSJ ink in Limeade. The card base was covered in holigraphic paper from Create and Craft. A sheer ribbon was tied on the side.

Piano Girl Book Box

Good Morning Ladies,
I stayed in all weekend. I didn't get much done but I stayed in. I did take Dude for a short walk last night.
The project for today is Piano Girl Book Box
I picked up the base of this book box at Hobby Lobby. It is a paper mache' book box. Gesso was painted on the entire box and left to dry. The next step was to dry brush blotches of acrylic paint over the gesso. Tim Holtz tissue paper was applied with Mod Podge in matte over the front cover inside and out and the back cover inside and out. The bird cage is a wood piece that was covered in Inka Gold to create a metal look. The piano girl is an image from Cornish Heritage Farms. She was stamped in black ink on glossy paper. The piece was then sponged in two Tim Holtz distressed inks. The spine of the box was covered with Inka Gold as well as the pages on the outside. This was then inked with Tim Holtz distressed ink. The girl was added to the top of the box. The bird cage was glued into place. The ivy was cut from a Creative Expressions die and glued onto the box. The flowers and buttons were then glued into place. The flowers are from Prima. Ivy was glued to the spine of the book.

Sheena Douglass Bottle Cap Magnet

Good Morning Ladies,
I am spending time creating this weekend. So last night I didn't sleep so well. To many ideas running through my head. I did a deep dig yesterday and that is how today's project came to fruit.
Today's project is Sheena Douglass Bottle Cap Magnet
I was looking for something else. I can't remember what now. But I ran across these large bottle caps I bought a long time ago at Hobby. I had no vision for them they were just on clearance at too good of a price not to pick them up. The idea came to mind that they would be perfect for some Sheena Douglass images. I only grabbed one as they will be a good find next time around. I used Tim Holtz alcohol inks in two colors and started squirting it directly on the silver metal cap. I did front back and sides. The Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Magical collection came out next. I stamped the mushrooms and wine bottles on watercolor paper and colorized them with watercolor crayons. They were then hand cut. The mushrooms have liquid pearls for spots. I need an elf or a fairy. But I needed one oh so tiny. So back into my stash I went. This time the charm stash. I found an elf and a wine glass. Perfect!! Dollar for dollar the Little Bit Magical collection is paying off. So many things to do with this collection.

FSJ Spring Fling Passport Birthday

Good Morning Ladies,
It's Saturday morning and early! I missed blogging yesterday. It just wasn't in the cards.
The card for today is FSJ Spring Fling Passport Birthday
Yes I am having fun with the passport books. I wanted to see if they would take acrylic paint to change the color of them. The answer is yes they take acrylic paint great. This opens up a whole new creative world for them. I painted the passport book inside and out with light blue acrylic paint. My next question was "will the acrylic paint take FSJ ink. The answer was yes. The whole passport book was stamped with the FSJ daisy stamps. A rabbit was stamped onto watercolor paper from the FSJ Spring Fling set. It was then colorized with watercolor crayons. It was hand cut. Three flowers were created using the FSJ daisy die set. I did add a pearl sprig behind the flower.
This is the inside of the book with the sentiment cards.
This is the inside of the book without the sentiment cards.
These are the sentiment cards using FSJ sentiments and more of the flowers.

Sheena Douglass Accordion Book Fold

Good Morning Ladies,
It has been a bit of a rough week. But I will make it through. Nothing that a positive attitude can't fix.
The project for today is Sheena Douglass Accordion Book Fold
This accordion book fold was created using a pre-made fold from The Paper Cut. It had been sitting on my work space for some time. It was perfect for a Sheena scene. The stamps are from the Little Bit Magical collection. The images along the bottom were stamped using black Archival Ink. The scene was then colorized using watercolor crayons. The mushrooms have liquid pearls for the spots. The background was stippled with ink. The viney leaves were stamped with distressed ink. Below are photos of each section of the book. On The Road Again Camping Journal

Good Morning Ladies,
It is raining this morning. It sounds like a nice gentle rain. My dogs don't mind the rain at all.
The project for today is On The Road Again Camping Journal
I used a new to me product on the panel. The product is artist liquid masking. I have been wanting to try this product for some time. So I took the plunge. The panel is watercolor paper. I stamped the van and camper. It was then colorized with watercolor crayons. The liquid mask was then put over the camper and the van using a paint brush. It was left to dry. Once it was dry, the trees from Stampscapes were stamped on the panel. The trees and sky were then colorized using watercolor crayons. The panel was left to dry. Then the liquid mask was pulled off. I was glad I took the plunge. The results were awesome. The camper, van, sentiment, and row of campers at the bottom are from an Inkadinkado clear set. The keys are made of wood. Inka Gold was rubbed on to give them a metal look. They were put on a Tim Holtz chain section. A ribbon runs down the spine to create a bookmark.

Sheena Douglass Butterfly Effect

Good Morning Ladies,
I am blogging late this morning. Last night an invite to come over to my sisters house ended with my mom falling at her home. She dislocated her shoulder. They popped it back in at the hospital. Hence the long night for everyone.
The card for today is Sheena Douglass Butterfly Effect
This card was created with the Sheena Douglass stamps. Crafter's Companion has free shipping this weekend. How great is that? The butterfly effect stamp was stamped on cream card stock and colorized with US Art Quest mica paints. It was then hand cut. The background was created using the oak leaf stamp from the Sheena Douglass Squirrel stamp set. It was stamped on craft card stock and colorized using the mica paints. The sentiment is from the Sheena Douglass Taste of India collection, the elephant set. It was stamped on an oval that was edged in ink. I love the Sheena Douglass stamps. They all interchange so nicely.
The moth is lifted up on the card.

Vintage German Cut and Inka Gold Journal

Good Morning Ladies,
I had computer trouble yesterday. Yes it  was not usable. That made me an unhappy camper. I was ready to go out and buy a new one. But Sam came to the rescue.
Today's project is Vintage German Cut and Inka Gold Journal
I have been working on journals lately. They are fun to do. For this journal my focus was the vintage German cut and Inka Gold. So lets start with the Inka Gold. It is produced by Viva Decor. It is a waxy type paste in a jar that shines up like gold. The wreath is a wooden piece that a friend gave me some time back. Inka Gold was rubbed on it in two different colors. Next the Creative Expressions border and corner dies were cut out of cream cardstock. They were also rubbed with Inka Gold. I found it to work just as well on the cardstock as the wood. The vintage German cut was placed in the center of the wreath. The background covering the journal is mirror card from Create and Craft. It was run through the grand calibur in a Creative Expression embossing folder. A ribbon was run down the spine of the journal to make a self bookmark.
