Sheena Douglass The Princess and the Dragon Canvas

Good Morning Ladies,
I am running a little late this morning. Chatted a little with a friend and just moving slow. It happens every now and again.
The project for today is Sheena Douglass The Princess and the Dragon Canvas
This is an 8X10 canvas. It was painted with gesso. Then sprays in blue, pink, and gold were sprayed on. The sprays are from Dylusion and Tattered Angles. I didn't like how it looked so I painted another coat of gesso over the sprays. It still let a bit show through. Tim Holtz tissue paper was the answer. That was applied with Yes! Paste. Worked like a charm. The princess and dragon images are from Sheena Douglass. The were stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolors. Then they were hand cut. Brown ink was sponged at the bottom of the canvas. A light brown Momento Luxe ink was then sponged on over the whole canvas minus the princess and the dragon. A Sheena Douglass stencil was used with green ink to create greenery on the sides. The piece at the top is a wood molding piece that was rubbed with Ink Gold. It was applied to the canvas with the Yes! Paste.
A close-up of the princess and the dragon.

Viva Las Vegas Stamps Moon Dancer

Good Morning Ladies,
We have had some stormy weather. Not as much rain that could have come with it but it seems everything is still growing.
The card for today is Viva Las Vegas Stamps Moon Dancer
I love this dancer from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. She is one of my favorites. The background she dances on was created using Dylusions ink sprays on watercolor paper using the smoosh technique. All of the images on this card are from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. The dancer was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolors. She was then hand cut. The fireworks or shooting stars on this card are accented with stickles.

Viva Las Vegas Stamps Red Rubber Canvas

Good Morning Ladies,
We had a big thunder and lightening storm last night. Our power was knocked out. Nipsco came by and it was a problem on the pole in front of our house. They got right to it and restored our power. We were only out for maybe an hour and a half. All is good with power this morning.
The project for today is Viva Las Vegas Stamps Red Rubber Canvas
I won red rubber from VLVS for last months challenge. I had to dive right in and use it. Here is the link to their store http://www.vlvstamps.com/
This is created on a 5X7 canvas board. The board was painted with Gesso first. Then three sprays were sprayed on. Two were Dylusion ink sprays and one was a Tattered Angels spray. The colors are very bright when they go on but upon drying become much lighter. The gesso make them move quite a bit. The cobble stone at the bottom of the scene was created using a Sheena Douglass stencil and archival ink. The moon was created using a circle stencil and Memento Luxe ink. Now on to the images. All of the images are from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. The dancing girl was one of the images I received in my package. She was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolors. She was then handcut. I thought about her for a while and found the wings image in my VLVS stash. They fit her perfect. The were stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with US Art Quest mica paints. They were then hand cut. The unicorn also from Viva Las Vegas Stamps was stamped on grey card stock and hand cut. He is one of my favorite stamps. To finish the canvas off a sponge was used to darken the lower edge with Archival ink.

Sheena Douglass and the Gel Press

Good Morning Ladies,
It was so hot and humid yesterday. I stayed inside most of the day except to run to the grocery and do three art abandonment drops. I set up the dog pool but the dogs were only wanting to be out for five minutes.
The card for today is Sheena Douglass and the Gel Press
Two things I love... Sheena Douglass and the Gel Press. The squirrel and leaves are images from Sheena Douglass. The squirrel was stamped on craft card using Archival ink. He was then colorized with watercolors. The leaves were stamped on a piece of craft card that was a second pull from the gel press. They were then hand cut. Stamping them on the craft card that was a second pull made them look pretty realistic and interesting. They were then adhered to the panel with the squirrel.
The inside sentiment was stamped on another piece of that Gel Press second pull. The sentiment is from Inky Antics.

Vintage German Cut Grasshopper Ride

Good Morning Ladies,
I have been up for some time but am running late blogging. Go figure.
The card for today is Vintage German Cut Grasshopper Ride
The background of this card was created using the spray smoosh technique. The sprays used were Dylusions and Tattered Angels. The sunray Sheena Douglass stencil was also used. The Dylusion mushroom stamp was stamped directly onto the background and colorized with art markers. The sentiment was stamped the same way. The fairy riding on the grasshopper is a Vintage German Embossed Cut. A sheer yellow ribbon tops this card off.

Gel Press Shark Card and Matching Envelope

Good Morning Ladies,
The heat is keeping me inside. The dogs can't take it. They even decided to play inside yesterday.
The project for today is Gel Press Shark Card and Matching Envelope
Over on facebook is a Gel Press Junkies group. In that group is a gal who does Gel Press cards and matching envelopes. She made a comment that I needed to try making a Gel Press envelope. So that is what I did. Make mail art!
I started with the card. The background was created using the Gel Press and two colors of dylusions paint. A Joggles stencil was used to create the bubbles in the water with Momento Luxe white ink. The images and sentiment are from an Avery Elle clear stamp set. The sharks were stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolors. The little fish were stamped with black Archival Ink.
A close-up of the sharks.
The inside sentiment is from the same set. It is stamped on another piece of Gel Press background.
This is the matching envelope. The white spot in the center was created using a spellbinders die that was cut from masking paper. The envelope was then placed on the Gel Press as a second pull from the card background. It just worked out that it had a bubbly look. Using the same Avery Elle set as the card I set to stamping. The shark fins and chomped surf board were stamped in black Archival Ink and colorized using watercolors. The waves at the bottom were gone over with a dark blue art marker.
A close-up of the fins and surfboard. I love how watercolor can be done on top of the paint without disturbing the paint.
I am so glad I was pushed to try this Gel Press mail art!

Sheena Douglass Art Journal Spread

Good Morning Ladies,
Today is suppose to be another hot one. I ran to the grocery store last night. So I won't have to do that today.
The project for today is Sheena Douglass Art Journal Spread
Art journaling is still new to me. This is my third two page spread in an art journal.
The art journal that I chose is the large Dylusions art journal. The background was created with Dylusions ink sprays. They were sprayed on at random. Then a roll of paper towels was rolled across this two page spread to pick up the excess ink. Water was flicked onto this background to create the white spots. A Joggles stencil and Tattered Angels ink spray was used to create the stars. And then the fun began. The dog is a Sheena Douglass image. He was stamped onto grey card stock and hand cut. The mushrooms are a Sheena Douglass image and were stamped using white Momento Luxe ink. For the night scene I did not add color to them. The foliage was created with a Sheena Douglass stencil. The dark area to the right was created using the deer stencil by Sheena Douglass. The sentiment was hand written. It is a quote from the Lion King movie. I love the Lion King. The quote reminds me of what my aunt used to say. She would say "We are made of good sturdy stock." Because of her I always try to remember who I am.

The right side of the page.

Gel Press Hedgehog Slider Card

Good Morning Ladies,
It is suppose to be a hot and steamy one today. So inside activity is going to be the key to a happy day today. That is fine with me there is so much too do.
The card for today is Gel Press Hedgehog Slider Card
The background for this card was created using the Gel Press. Dylusions paint was dropped onto the Gel Press and a brayer was used to roll the paint on. What to use for a tool for design. My water brush was right there so I picked it up and used the back end of it to squiggle some designs onto the Gel Press. Bristol paper was used to pick up the paint and design. I had ordered a slider card die from the Stamps of Life. I have not made slider cards in the past because I am a craft knife disaster. This die set makes it easy peasy. The hedgehog stamp and die set is also from the Stamps of Life and made this card so cute. The hedgehog is backed with two pennies and a pop dot to allow him to slide back and forth on the card. The sentiment is also from the Stamps of Life. A set that was a gift to me for being a three year member of their die hard club.

Dog Bobble Head Pop-up

Good Morning Ladies,
I have been playing with my new stuff and having fun with my Gel Press. I also finished a double page spread in my art journal.
The card for today is Dog Bobble Head Pop-up
This card was created using the Stampendous Pop'cessiors die set. The dog stamps are also from Stampendous along with the matching dies. The dog body and head was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolors. The two pieces were then cut with the matching dies. The background was created with Momento Luxe ink and a Joggles stencil. The ink was stippled through the stencil. The dogs body was popped up using pop dots and the head was adhered with the piece cut with the bobble die. Washi tape top the front of this card off.
A view to show the lift of the head.
This is the inside of the card. The brown dog is mounted on a pop-up piece from the pop-up die set.
The sentiment is from Art Impressions.
The brown dog also has the bobble part.

Stampendous Pop'cessories Die Set

Good Morning Ladies,
When I went to the new scrapbook store in Indy I found a few things to bring home. They had a great variety of things. They carry stamps and dies. Yay for me!
The card today is made with the Stampendous Pop'cessories Die Set I purchased there. And here is the card.
Stampendous has a whole range of dies and stamps that go with this pop'cessories die set. I used what I had at home. So the rest of the dies and stamps on this card are from the Stamps of Life. The card base is an A2 which I rarely use. The dies can also be used on other sizes of cards but for the first try I thought I would try something small. All the images are stamped in Archival ink. I even found a reinker for my black pad there. This is the front of the card. The background paper is from my stash.
A close-up of the sentiment on the front.
On the inside of the card I used the pop-up box die. This was a simple die to use. I had no trouble with putting this together. It makes the card so much fun!
Another view of the pop-up box inside the card.

Santa Over The Tree Tops

Good Morning Ladies,
My trip to Indy yesterday was a good one. I even was able to stop at a scrapbook store. I haven't run into one of those in such a long time. It was fun to browse and shop there. The owner was so friendly.
The card for today is Santa Over The Tree Tops
The scene panel was created by using a Tattered Angels snowflake screen placed on glossy card stock and then stippled with dye ink. The stamped images came next stamped in dye ink. The Santa and reindeer are an image from CTMH. The tree tops are an image from Stampscapes. The trees were then highlighted with stickles. The panel was layered with black card stock and the card base was covered with glitter paper.
The inside sentiment is from the Stamps of Life stamped in white with Memento Luxe in white.

Gel Press Future Agility Star

Good Morning Ladies,
I am off on a trip to Indy today. I will be carrying four pieces of my art with me that I will abandon throughout the day. It will add interest to my day.
The card for today is Gel Press Future Agility Star
The background that covers the card base was created with the Gel Press. Dylusions paints were used and my finger to create the stars. Why not use a tool that is always with you. The ribbon was created using an All Night Media image on royal blue card stock. The agility image in the center of the ribbon is from Dog Stamps Plus. The runner image is from TPS and the dog image is from Crafty Secrets. The baby beagle dog is a 3-D image from The Memory Cellar.
A view to show the popping of the beagle dog baby.

The inside sentiment is from Sheena Douglass.

Vintage German Cut Barn Hunt

Good Morning Ladies,
It's Friday, next on to the weekend. I was trying to get a camping trip going this weekend but it is a no go. I sure the weekend will be adventure packed anyway.
The card for today is Vintage German Cut Barn Hunt
The background that covers the card base is a piece of corrugate card in blue. It was used to create a gel press background with red paint. The piece looked pretty neat with the red paint on it. The second layer is a piece of bristol paper that has paint and Tim Holtz tissue paper put on with US Art Quest PPA. The rats are a vintage German embossed cut. The blue ribbon image is from All Night Media. It was stamped on blue card stock twice and hand cut. The rosette was layered on top with pop dots.

Sheena Douglass Snow Wellies

Good Morning Ladies,
I guess I am doing Christmas in July. Of course cardmakers have to do Christmas cards early or we don't get them done.
The card for today is Sheena Douglass Snow Wellies
This card was fun to make. It started with the snow wellies image from Sheena Douglass. This is a much bigger image but the two pairs of wellies were all that I wanted. So the image was stamped on watercolor paper and only the two pairs were colorized with watercolors. They were then cut from the bigger image. The bark looking background paper was a paper I received in a surprise pack of paper I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The door was cut from the Grand Mansion Memory Box die. The snow ground was created using torn watercolor paper that was colorized with watercolors on the torn edge. Small white beads were used to cover the torn paper for snow. The wreath was in my stash and worked for the door. The snowflakes are an image from the same Sheena Douglass set. They were stamped with white Momento Luxe ink. I am now in love with this ink pad. It is the first white ink that has worked the way I wanted it to.
A close-up of the wellies and snow beads.
This is the inside sentiment fro the Stamps of Life.

CTMH Manger Scene

Good Morning Ladies,
I was so dog tired last night that I turned in early. I am wide awake this morning.
The card for today is CTMH Manger Scene
The background of this scene was created using the spray smoosh technique. A sun ray stencil was applied in this background that reminded me of the star. The manger scene and the sentiment are from a CTMH clear set. A black and gold ribbon top this card off.

Gel Press Halloween Bat

Good Morning Ladies,
The month of July is flying by. Summer seems to go so fast.
The card for today is Gel Press Halloween Bat
The background of this card was created using the Gel Press and a Memory Box tree stencil. Purple and blue seemed to make a night sky background perfect. Dylusions paint was used on the gel press. After the background dried a Diane Wakely stencil was used to create the moon with dye ink and a stipple brush. The mice at the bottom of the card were die cut from a Gina Marie die that a friend gifted me. The mice are so cute! The bat is an image from Peachy Keen. I used my new Cuttelola dot pen to shade the wings of the bat. The bat was then colorized with watercolors and hand cut. He was then added to the card.
 A close-up of the bat.
A close up of the mice.
The inside sentiment is from Martha Stewart. The memory box stencil was used to create the tree background using dye ink and a stipple brush.
