Little Red Canvas

Good Morning Ladies,
It's Friday!! This weekend Dude and I are barn hunting. Should be a really fun weekend. So baths for both dogs today.

The project for today is Little Red Canvas
This is the canvas I have been working on. It took a different turn than what I had planned.
This is an 8 X 10 canvas. The images on the canvas are from a Sheena Douglass stamp set. The collection is A Little Bit Sketchy and the set is Little Red. I finally took the plunge and ordered from across the pond. Shipping was fast. So the canvas was gessoed. Then modge podge was used to attach designed tissue wrap to the canvas. Acrylic paint was brushed on randomly in three colors. Little Red and the sentiments were stamped on watercolor paper. Little Red was colorized using watercolor crayons. Each element was hand cut. The wolf face from the stamp set was stamped randomly three times on the canvas. Then the inking began. I took stipple brushes and inked several colors onto the canvas. The elements were then attached to the canvas. The final step was to spray the whole canvas with gold glimmer mist. I did not take a photo but the edges were wrapped in star night washi tape.

Too Fabulous Birthday

Good Morning Ladies,
It was a bit warm yesterday. But by evening it had cooled off nice. I stopped by my sisters and she gave me some sweet corn. So that will be one thing we have for dinner tonight.
The card for today is Too Fabulous Birthday
This card was created on a UK size card base. The card base is from Create and Craft. The edges were inked. The background is a piece of card stock that was ran through the beaded fanfare embossing folder from Creative Expressions. The girl and the sentiment are from a Frou Frou collection stamp set called Let's do Lunch. This stamp set is from Crafter's Companion. The girl was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolor crayons. A set of Sizzix thin-lits dies was used to cut the circles. The butterfly is from CTMH.
A close-up of the girl.
A close-up of the sentiment on the front.

This is the inside sentiment from the same stamp set.

Taste of India Journal

Good Morning Ladies,
Yesterday got away from me and I didn't get to blog. We had a power outage. It didn't last long, but long enough to shorten my time.
Today's project is Taste of India Journal
This journal was covered with holographic cardstock in gold from Create and Craft. It is hard to photograph. The focal point, the tag was the first piece of this project. The background of the tag was created using a Sheena Douglass stencil. It is the In The Forest stencil. Inka Gold in turquoise was rubbed on the entire tag. Next the stencil was laid over the tag and Inka Gold in gold was rubber over the stencil. I was pleased with how it turned out and knew that the Elephant from Sheena Douglass Taste of India was perfect. The elephant was stamped on watercolor paper. It was then colorized with watercolor crayons and hand cut. It was glued down to the tag and the portion of the elephant that exceeded the tag was cut off. Sometimes partial images give a different effect. Fiber was tied at the top of the tag. I have had the old piece of costume jewelry sitting on my table for some time. I looked at it and thought it was perfect for an India theme. The faux large oval rhinestones from my stash gave it that treasures of India feel. Along the spine ribbon was ran down with enough to extend for a self bookmark.
 A close-up of the tag.

Flat back flowers top this card off.

Sheena Kite Tag

Good Morning Ladies,
Today should pan out to be a fun day. I am off to an agility jumpers thing today. Dude should be a handful. He is ready to get out and do something.
The project for today is Sheena Kite Tag
This tag was created using a shipping tag. It was stippled with green ink at the bottom first. The Sheena Douglass Silhouette Grass was stamped next. Then the Sheena Douglass Kite stamp was stamped. The rest of the tag was stippled with ink. The sentiment was stamped along with the leaves. The sentiment and leaves are from the Sheena Douglass set A Taste of India Marching Elephant. Fibers were added to the top of the tag.

VLVS Imagination Birthday

Good Morning Ladies,
I tried a new recipe last night. Chorizo Quesadillas. They were a little too spicy for my hubby and me. But the boys liked them. I think I will have to make a few adjustments to the recipe next time.
The card for today is  VLVS Imagination Birthday
The boy in the wash tub stamp was the inspiration for this card. He is a VLVS (viva las vegas stamps) image. One that I am really fond of. He was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolor crayons. He was then cut with a sizzix thin-lits set and layered. The background cardstock was created using an old stencil from my stash that I stippled ink through. A ribbon was tied at the bottom to top this card off.
This is the inside sentiment.

A Little Bit Magical Journal

Good Morning Ladies,
My net was acting up this morning. I don't know why but it is working now. I had checked into frustration station. I went and did a little creating and now I am back in business.
The project for today is A Little Bit Magical Journal
This journal started with the Sheena Douglass panel created with the Little bit Magical collection from Crafter's Companion. This panel was created using watercolor paper and watercolor crayons. I thought I would frame this panel. But I had an old pack of Eco paper from Provo Craft staring at me for some time and the frame and tag in this package seemed to fit just right. The stick came from the same package. The background for the front and back of the journal was created with a packing paper type card stock. The cardstock was scrunched up several times and then straightened out a bit. It was then sprayed with Tim Holtz stain and left to dry. The spine is covered with a mossy green ribbon that is cut long enough to create a bookmark.
 A close-up of the panel.
 A close-up of the tag.
This is the back of the journal.

Country Friend

Good Morning Ladies,
I had a bad sinus headache yesterday afternoon. Not a good feeling. I seem to be back to normal this morning. Thank Goodness.
The card for today is Country Friend
This card was inspired by the dog in the truck. This image is a cling mounted image. It isn't marked with a company and I don't remember where it came from. It was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolor crayons. The background was created using watercolor paper, watercolor crayons, and two Stampscapes stamps. The sentiment is from The Stamps of Life.
The dog and truck are popped up on the card.
This is the inside sentiment. Also from The Stamps of Life.

VLVS Princess Flower Garden

Good Morning Ladies,
It was a nice quiet relaxed weekend. Staying in out of the heat was perfect. I got some of the house cleaned out and a bit of creating done.
The card for today is VLVS Princess Flower Garden
The card base is covered with two colors of corrugated card stock from DCWV. This gives the card a lot of texture. The princess image is from Vivia Las Vegas Stamps (VLVS). She was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolor crayons. She was then hand cut. The upper half of her body is popped up with pop dots. The flowers she walks among are Prima flowers from my stash. The banner was cut with a Sizzix thin-lits die. The sentiment is also from VLVS. Purple checked ribbon creates the flags for the banner. A silver star tops the banner off.
A close-up of the princess and the flowers.
This is the inside of the card. The corner pocket was created using a FSJ corner pocket die. Tucked inside is a tag with the sentiment.
This is the tag pulled out of the pocket.

CTMH Butterfly Birthday

Good Morning Ladies,
We never made it to Lowry's Meat Market yesterday. We headed out but the rain and the wind was so bad we turned around. We went to the grocery instead and picked up a few things for dinner.
The card for today is CTMH Butterfly Birthday
This card was created using a Sizzix Flip-It card base die. The background paper is from TPS. The stamp set is from CTMH. This set has matching dies which I used. The butterfly is popped up on a double popped flower. A sheer purple ribbon tops this card off.
A view of the popped up flower.
This is the flip side of the card. The sentiment is from FSJ.

Grumpy Cat Birthday

Good Morning Ladies,
It was terribly humid yesterday. It looks like it will be more of the same today. I guess it is a good day to stay in and stamp and clean.
I took lots of new cards, stamps, stencils and scrapbook templates into the Co-op Shoppes yesterday. You can find them in booth 25.
The card for today is Grumpy Cat Birthday
The card base is a pre-cut from The Paper Cut. I love the window in them. Washi tape runs across the top of the black layer. The cat is an image from FSJ. It is the AT Feed Me set. He was stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolor crayons. The sentiment on the tag is from Alley Way stamps. The ceramic flower pot button is from my stash.
A close-up of the button and tag.
This is the inside of the card and the sentiment. The sentiment is from the same Alley Way set.

FSJ Passport Owl

Good Morning Ladies,
It was cool enough last night to have the windows open. I love the windows being open with the fresh air coming in.
The project for today is FSJ Passport Owl
This project is created with all FSJ things except for the star clip. I ordered the new passport books thinking that maybe a packet of hot coco would fit inside. I was not correct but decided to see what else I could do with this item. It turned out that the passport book is fun to work with and now I have many ideas in my head how to use this. The Geometric Genius background stamp was inked on the passport book with dark hazelnut ink. It was stamped twice to get coverage on the whole book front and back. The artful owl stamp was stamped in blue lagoon ink. It was then hand cut and sits on a brown oval. The oval is popped up with pop dots.
 A close-up of the owl.
The inside was sponged with the two inks used on the front.
Two tags were cut. The outer edges were stippled with the same colors of ink. The sentiments are from the greet and shout stamp set.

Mrs. Swandog
