Joan's Challenge Shaker Boxes

Good Evening Ladies,
It took me a couple of days to catch up from the dog show. So here I am. Last week I had no time to challenges. Today I started and finished a project for Joan's Challenge Shaker Boxes ....
You can see the challenge by clicking this link http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/09/this-weeks-challenge.html
The requirements are....
Create some kind of shaker box
Use red and green colors
Use snowflakes
Use an animal
I decided to use a candy tin for my project....I love giving something a new life...here is my project....
I created my shaker box using a tree die set from Spellbinders. I cut the tree in the largest size using the next size down to create my opening. I used the largest die again to cut the backing tree in red. I used a stamped image of a dog colorized with copic markers inside my shaker box and added diamond dust for the shaking snow. I covered the top of my tin with green cardstock and added a layer of red dsp for the second layer. I used my tree cut out from the center of the shaker box for the second tree. The Merry Christmas die cut worked perfect with this project. My snowflakes are cut from a Spellbinder snowflake set. I added clear rhinestones for the centers.
I covered the sides of the tin with the red snowflake dsp. It was all a little plain so I added red braid around the lid and around the bottom of the tin,.
Here is a close-up of the shaker box.
A great way to give dog treats to that special dog for Christmas.
This was a fun project to create. I had not made a shaker box for a long time.
Thanks for another great challenge Joan and Selma!
Happy Scraps,
Mrs. Swandog

WOW! Great job and very creative I must say! I'm sitting this one out I think ... forgot to pick up some of those shaker boxes while at Joan's last month and not feeling very creative at the moment. My hat goes off to you for creating your own shaker box. See ... you always inspire me.

What a cute idea. I love how you created that shaker box with the dog inside. Thanks for joining us again this week in the challenge at Joan's Gardens.
