Cloth & Cardstock Embossed Flowers Challenge at Joan's Gardens

Good Morning Ladies,
It has just started to rain here this morning. I went with my sister yesterday and put my parents air conditioners in. It's going to be a hot one this week.
I worked on my canvas for the challenge over at Joan's Gardens this weekend and it was so much fun. It did require to make a trip out to Joan's to pick up the leaf die and a few more things just for fun. Thanks Joan for putting up with me when you were so busy. The challenge is cloth and cardstock embossed flowers. Here is my take on it....

I decided to make an altered canvas for this project,just because I like to do this type of art.

This is a top view to show the cloth and cardstock embossed flowers at the top. This technique is so cool and makes it so that you can mold and shape the flowers and leaves to your desired effect.  The die I used for the flowers was the Tim Holtz tattered flowers. The embossing folder I ran them through is the Cuttle Bug D'vine Swirl. The inks I used on the flowers is Tim Holtz distress ink in broken china and Adirondack denim.

This is a top view to show my hanger for the canvas. I wrapped the whole canvas with braided jute and attached the hanger with upholstry tacks.

This is a side view at the bottom to show the leaves using the same technique. I used the spellbinders nested leaves to cut my leaves. I used the cuttle bug tiny bubbles embossing folder to emboss them. For inks I used Tim Holtz distress ink in crushed olive and peeled paint.

For my wording I used a saying from a Stampscapes nature set. I stamped this onto bristol board and cut it using the spellbinders large lables. I also cut the mat with the same spellbinder die.

I needed to add a natural element to this canvas. I used reindeer moss to add a touch of the earth.

This is a closer view of the Blue Jay. He came out of a 1930's bird book. My background is done in acrylic paint. I used an 1 1/2 inch house paint brush and a natural sponge to create the background.
I want to thank the guest designer Lana for sharing this technique with all of us. This is going to be one of my favorite techniques.
