Get Well Dog

Good Morning Ladies,
Another fine Friday. My new roof is being put on. I don't know who picked the shingle color, but I am glad it was done for me. Last time I had a hard time making the choice.
I have a Get Well Dog card for you today....
This card was created using a Lorilie stamp set. This stamp company has wonderful stamps. I think this little lady dog is so cute. She was colorized with prisma pencil and gamsol. Then she was hand cut. I used the Heartfelt creations window die for her to sit in front of. The sentiment is from TCP and was stamped in black on bristol board. The background paper is a specialty paper with silver glitter hearts.
This is the inside of the card. I repeated elements from the card front and added a black spray.

Scrapin' -- Stampin' Crop

Good Afternoon Ladies,
There is a one day crop coming up in Michigan City, IN. Scrapin' -- Stampin' Crop is the name. It is to benefit the Little Wish Foundation. The crop will be held on April 21,2012 from 8am to 10pm. The location is the Queen of All Saints cafeteria. The cost is $25 and includes Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
I will not be able to attend. So instead I am donating a 12 x 12 scrapbook with pre-made pages for fund raising.
I had to create one last single page layout and here it is....
To create this page the peace pipe was stamped on Bristol board, colorized with prisma pencil and gamsol. This image and it's mat was cut using a spellbinder die set. The horse was stamped on bristo. board and hand cut. Three feathers were bound with leather wrap. The two mats fit 4x6 photos. A small journal box was created with the same spellbinders set. The images are from stamping sensations.
 close-up of the peace pipe.
 A close-up of the horse.
The feather bundle. This layout was fun to create. I love using feathers. It adds a nice textured feel to any card or layout.

Happy Birthday Tu Tu You

Good Morning Ladies,
Yesterday was a very good day. When I got home from work Calvin, Windy, and I went for a walk in the woods down by the lake. It was a little brisk out, but so good for the soul. We came home tired and inspired.
Here is what I have created for you today...
Happy Birthday Tu Tu You
This card was created using an Art Impression cling stamp set. The image and sentiments were stamped on Bristol board. The ballerina's are colorized using Prisma pencil and Gamsol. Glitter was added for their tu tu's. The two gals with glasses have crystal laquer to create their lenses. Lots of simple layers create a nice stage for these ladies. Purple polka dot ribbon tops this card off.
The inside has the Birthday greeting. This was a fun upbeat card to create!
Remember to stop by the Co-Op shops in La Porte for a close-up and personal view of the cards and other items I create.

Joan's Challenge envelope bookmark

Good Morning Ladies,
Another fine Monday has come to a start. I had a very nice weekend.
To start off this week I am joining in on Joan's Challenge envelope bookmark. Here is the link so you can join too or just hop over to see what everyone has created..... http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/03/this-weeks-challenge_22.html
The challenge requirements are..
create a corner bookmark using selma's tutorial and a junk mail envelope
cover the front and back of your bookmark
You can see Selma's tutorial at http://selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/2012/03/joans-gardens-weekly-challenge_21.html
I love upcycled projects.
So here is my bookmark.....
I thought I would keep with the upcycle theme. I used extra pieces from previous projects to create my bookmark. The leaves are cut from a Cheery Lynn die. The flower is stamped and handcut from a Heartfelt Creations stamp set. The bird is from an Inkadinkado clear stamp set. The stamped images are colorized with Prisma pencil and Gamsol. The corner is covered in dsp from DCWV. Braid creates the edge.
This is the back of my bookmark. I used the same braid on the back just so it wasn't so plain.
I loved this project. It was simple and fun! Thanks again Joan and Selma for a great challenge!

Gentle Cow

Good Morning Ladies,
This looks to be a fun Sunday. Windy and I have a dog thing to go to this afternoon. It is always fun to hang with dogs and friends.
I have a card for you this morning I call Gentle Cow.
To create this card I used a card base six inches by six inches that is a tan swiss dot. The cow is another image from Stamping Sensations that I picked up at the Indy show. She was stamped on bristol board and colorized with prisma pencil and gamsol. A spellbinders oval set was used to cut the image out. This was stacked on a layer cut with a different spellbinders set from DCWV old world stack. A memory box die was used to cut the leaves. The flowers were created using a Cheery Lynn cuties die and a Memory Box rolled flower die. Pearls were added to the centers of the rolled flowers. Three pearls top this card off.
This is the inside of the card. Using the same dies as the front of the card. The sentiment is from a Heartfelt Creations stamp set.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge M2112 owl flight

Good Morning Ladies,
I think I was awake more than I was asleep last night. So when morning came I found myself in bed until 6:30. Unheard of in my life. I am a 5:00 am person. So I am blogging much later than normal.
I am trying a new challenge site. You can see the challenge here http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/sketch-challenges/what-if-wednesday-sketch-challenge-m2112/
So here is my entry Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge M2112 owl flight ...
This is a sketch challenge. Click on the above link to see the sketch and all of the challenge entries. For this card I used an owl from stamping sensations. I don't think I own any repeat impression as of yet. But I can see this is going to change. They have an awesome array of stamps and supplies. I stamped my owl on bristol board and colorized him with prisma pencil and gamsol. He was then cut using a rectangle spellbinders set. For the next two layers I used a scallop spellbinders set. My patterned paper is from Bo Bunny. Behind the ovals I added a border punch from Martha Stewart in a light tan. This card felt too plain to me. But I did not want it to take on a fantasy look., So I stamped twisting vines from stampscapes going off the edges here and there.
For the inside of my card I added a nature sentiment from stampscapes.

Outhouse Horse

Good Morning Ladies,
This morning has felt long already. You see Windy is going in to get her teeth cleaned. So no breakfast for her this morning. She is not liking it at all!
Here is a card for you today..... Outhouse Horse
The front of this card features a horse patiently waiting outside the outhouse door. This is another new stamp I picked up at the stamp show in Indy from Stamping Sensations. This image  was colorized using prima pencil and gamsol. It was then cut with a spellbinders set as well as the mat behind it. Beads and cowboy charms were suspended by sew easy thread for a finishing touch.
A close-up of the beads and charms. I have not used charms for awhile. They just add that little something, something to dress up any card.

Simple Pleasures

Good Morning Ladies,
Work has been very busy the last week or so. I am still finding time to create though. But I am finding my mornings very short.
Today I have a card for you as well as my rolled flowers. So let's get to it...
Simple Pleasures is my card....
Friends are an important part of our lives. So I created this friendship card. What a joyful thing to receive in your mailbox. This card was created using one of my atcs. Little children having a tea party, of course with a dog looking on. Mica covers the children and a chip board piece states Simple Pleasures. This is backed with a mauve mat. This sits on top of a cream and aqua floral background. Lace and three pearls top this card off.
This is the inside of the card.
These are my new handmade rolled flower trios. They can be purchased at the Co-Op shops in La Porte. Great little flowers for cardmaking, scrapbooking, etc Stop in and visit booth 25.

Happy Birthday Chickadee

Good Morning Ladies,
My time is going quickly this morning. I don't know where it is running off to, but I do have a card for you today.
And here it is.... Happy Birthday Chickadee
This card was created using an our daily bread stamp and die. My friend was kind enough to stamp and cut this for me. I colorized the bird with Prisma pencil and gamsol. The oval is from a spellbinders set. The birds at the top of the card are a Martha Stewart punch. I just love this punch it comes in handy a lot. The Happy Birthday is stamped on a die cut with a spellbinders banner die set. This is a new set for me and I am loving it.
This is the inside of the card.

Turtles on a Log

Good Morning Ladies,
The weather has been so beautiful. What a spring time blessing. It is a time to really enjoy nature to the fullest. The trees budding, spring flowers blooming, and the birds returning and singing praises to the earth.
Today I bring you a nature card Turtles on a Log....
This card was created using a rubber stamp image from Stamping Sensations. This was a two dollar unmounted stamp I picked up at the show in Indy. The image was stamped in archival ink in black on bristol board. It was then cut with a spellbinders die set. I wanted to keep with a more natural look. So it is kind of plain on purpose. But with just the image and mats it did not speak to me. So I added some of the sew easy thread just wrapped around the brown mat and attached in the back. It was suggested to me that some people want cards that are just a little plainer. I take suggestions to heart and my cards are put up for sale at the Co-Op shops in La Porte. So I thank this person for giving me some insight into what people want.
The inside of the card is stamped with a quote from stampscapes. I love their nature quotes. Another person told me they like to buy cards with sentiments inside. They like to buy handmade cards, but need them to have something on the inside. I am also keeping this in mind.

Good Morning Ladies,
I had a great time yesterday creating with my  sister, my mom, and my friend. The rest of the weekend was busy doing laundry. Not my favorite thing.
Here is a card for you today....
I create a lot of dog cards. Cat cards not as many. So I created a cat sympathy card. The stamps are images from clear dollar stamps. The ds card stock is from DCWV. The sparkly stuff is from US Art Quest. The card stock is glittery.
This is the inside of the card. Simple but pretty.

My Dog Saw You Naked

Good Morning Ladies,
I should get straight to my blog title. Don't want to leave you wondering too long. I decided to bring you a funny card today. So here it is.....
I created this card using a dog image from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I paired this with a saying from Sparkle and Sprinkle. They seem to go perfect together. The dsp I believe is Bo Bunny. I could be wrong. I used two different spellbinder sets on this card. Scroll down to see the inside.
This is the inside of the card.
I hope this leaves you smiling on this wonderful Saturday!

Joan's Challenge #10 easter

Good Morning Ladies,
I had a little problem here yesterday. My water heater was leaking, so a new one was in order. The plumber came out and installed one. But no water to do laundry or anything else. So I made my card for Joan's Challenge #10 easter card.
I found the challenge to be another fun one. Here are the requirements for http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/03/this-weeks-challenge_15.html
Create an Easter card with a bunny
Use an embossed background
Colors for Easter
Use a flourish
Use rhinestones
Here is my take on the challenge.....
I used a 5 x 7 card. My embossed background is the blue mat. I embossed this with a sizzix embossing folder. This mat sits on top of a pink mat and a purple mat. My mat card stock is shimmery. I used a Cheery Lynn die to create my white picket fence. My bunnies are an image from Art Gone Wild. Moving up to the top of the card. I used a Cheery Lynn corner flourish die to cut my purple flourish. I added a three flower cluster. The leaves are stamped using a heartfelt creations stamp set on green handmade paper. These were hand cut. My flowers were created using a Cheery Lynn cutie die and the purple flowers are also rolled flowers. I added rhinestones to the centers of the flowers. A purple checked ribbon finishes this card off. Click on the link above to order your Cheery Lynn dies and Heartfelt creations stamp sets. Joan only charges what it cost to ship. A great deal!
A close-up of my flower cluster.
Another great challenge Joan and Selma! Bunnies are right up my alley.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge Blog

Good Morning Ladies,
This weather has been wonderful. I am so enjoying it!
I was surf around the net on Tuesday and came across a brand new challenge blog. I came upon a new  Twisted Tuesday Challenge Blog. They are having a design team call. So I grabbed my stamps, paper, dies, and supplies and created a card.
Here is the link to the blog http://twistedtuesdaychallenges.blogspot.com/2012/03/welcome-and-design-team-call.html
The requirements for the project are
The Challenge: Make your project with Pastel/Spring colors but incorporate black somewhere on your creation.

The Twist:  Your creation must be square (no standard size A2 cards).
Here is my take on the project....
I started with a 6 inch by 6 inch square card. My spring is the bunnies. This image is from Art Gone Wild. I stamped the bunny couple in black archival ink on bristol board. The image is colorized with Prisma Pencil and Gamsol. I added stickles for the tails. All papers are from a Debbie Mum Noah's Ark stack. A Martha Stewart punch around the page set was used to create the border on the yellow mat. The boy bunny's bow tie is black to help me tie the color black in. Under the yellow mat I added a black mat so just some peeks through. The green layer and the bunny image was cut using a spellbinder die set. The corner flourish is cut from a Cheery Lynn die. The three flowers at the top are handmade by yours truly. I added a pearl spray to top this card off.
A close-up of my flowers and spray.

3D Elephant Scene Card

Good Morning Ladies,
I have had a lot of fun creating for Joan's challenge. (see posts below) So I have been holding back a 3D Elephant Scene Card. But today I am sharing it with you.
The elephant stamp was purchased when I went to the Indy stamp show. What do you think?
The elephant stamp is by Grey Wolf rubber stamps. The other stamps are from stampscapes. The only thing I had to mask was the elephant. The elephant was stamped and colorized several times. Each image was cut leaving part of the elephant for scrap. Using pop up glue dots he was assembled. This was placed on top of the image of the elephant that was stamped into the scene. The panel was matted with a grey panel and a pale blue stripe panel. The black checked ribbon was the final touch.
A view of the top side of the elephant to show the layers.
Thanks grey wolf this elephant image is amazing!
A side view of the layers.

Joan's Challenge #9 recycled box sunflowers

Good Morning Ladies,
The recycled box challenge over at Joan's has my mojo going. I have created another recycled box.
Joan's Challenge #9 recycled box sunflowers is my box. The requirements are...
Recycle a container (round)
Color theme your choice
Use lace
Use pearls and flowers
http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/03/this-weeks-challege.html  Check it out and come join us!
For my recycled box I used an empty prima flower tin. I have been hanging onto this for a long time. This is the top.
This is what the side of my container looked like before I started creating.
All the dies I used to create this tin came from Joan's. She has the best selection of dies in the country as far as I am concerned. If you need it she has it. I used tim holtz alcohol inks to change the color of my tin. The very bottom die that covers the clear window in the box is a Marriane die. The cardstock is double sided, so when you open the tin the side paper shows through the window. I should mention all the dsp came from a Graphics 45 12 x 12 pad. The pad is playtimes past. The sunflowers and olive leaves are cut from Cheery Lynn dies. The rolled flowers are cut from a memory box die. The single leaf is stamped and cut from a Heartfelt creations stamp set that you can also purchase at Joan's. The fence is cut from a Cheery Lynn die. My pearls are the centers of the rolled flowers. I cut the little girl from a tag from the same Graphic 45 tablet.
This is a side view of my box. It shows my lace that I added onto the lid. This box has a very different feel than my previous box.
A close up of the little girl just because I think she is so cute.
Too much fun Joan and Selma! Thanks again!

Joan's Challenge #9 recycled box

Good Morning Ladies,
I had a great time at the dog show yesterday. The new time change has not affected me much. I was up at five and creating.
Yes another challenge at Joan's.
This is the challenge this week... http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/03/this-weeks-challege.html
Joan's Challenge #9 recycled box
These are the requirements...
Use a recycled box (round)
Color theme is your choice
Use some lace
Use some pearls and flowers
Here is my recycled box....
This is my box. It is not a food box, but a left over christmas box. It is now spring so instead of storing this box I am recycling it for the challenge.
This is the top of my box. I had to think a bit. My cardstock that covers the box is from DCWV. The doily die is cut from a Cheery Lynn die you can purchase at Joan's. I created my flowers using dies. Joan has a great selection of flower dies. For pearls I added a pearl spray and pearls to the centers of my flowers. I purchased the Webster's pages cameos from Joan's awhile back. They were just so beautiful I could not pass them up. The cameo worked perfect for the top of this box.
This is a side view of my box. Also added to the lid is pillow lace and ribbon trim with beads. On the bottom section of my box I added a band of glitter. I used the double sided sticky tape to add the glitter. I burnished it with my finger so that my glitter would not flack off.
A close up of the cameo. I have always loved cameos. Even as a child they always caught my eye. Things are always great when they take you back to fond childhood memories.
Thanks Selma and Joan for a wonderful challenge!

Yellow Glitter Egg

Good Morning Ladies,
I am up extra early. I am leaving for the dog show at five. Oh for the love of dogs! I am looking forward to a fun day with friends. But before I leave I have a Yellow Glitter Egg for you. And here it is....
These glitter eggs are perfect for Easter. This one is done in yellow. The papers I used to create the large topper are Washi papers. Washi paper is thin so to give it more body I applied a coat of crystal laquer on it once I had it stamped heat set and cut. This paper give the topper a very different and sunny look.
Top view of the topper topped off with a rolled flower. These eggs along with many  other creations are offered for you to purchase at the Co-Op shop in La Porte at booth 25.

Wet Dog Card

Good Morning Ladies,
I am off to a dog show on Saturday. Just a fun day to watch Juice show and weight pull. It will be a relaxing day for sure.
I have a Wet Dog Card for you today...what else would you expect from a dog groomer?
Here it is....
This card was created using a set of cling mount stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle. The dog was colorized using gamsol and prisma pencil. He was cut with a spellbinder set along with the mat underneath. The dog bones are colorized the same. The ribbon on the front proclaims Best Friend.
This is the inside of the card. This card was just plain old fun to create!
If you see a card here on my blog it can be purchased at the co-op shops in La Porte. Come down and visit.

Floral Rabbit Easter Card

Good Morning Ladies,
I am loving this warm weather. Thankfully we have not had any of the damaging storms that other parts of the country have had.
I have been having fun creating with things I picked up at the stamp show. Today I have a Floral Rabbit Easter Card for you...
I don't remember what company the floral rabbit is from. I bought it unmounted. I stamped the rabbit on bristol board and stamped with archival ink in black. I colorized the flowers and vines with spica pens. I curved the ears, nose and tail and added pop dots to give it a little rise. I mounted the rabbit on a double stack of spellbinders die cuts. The flowers were created using a stamp set. Three layers create the flowers, all hand cut with a brad for the center. The leaf die cut is from memory box. The bottom layer is a piece of washi paper from a origami paper pack. I tried something totally different for me. I punched a Martha Stewart border and for the first time place green glitter ribbon under it. I am happy that I can see the whole design of the border punch and have my glitter ribbon.
This is the inside of the card. The blessed easter stamp is from the dollar bin wood stamps at Micheals.
I have decided to enter this in the pink elephant blog challenge. Check it out here http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/03/pink-elephant-tpe138.html
