Good Morning Ladies,
I was good to get rain yesterday! This morning it looks like it rained while I was sleeping. That is so good. The earth around here needs a good soaking. It felt so good to have rain I was not dodging drops but strolling through the rain. I never thought rain would make me so happy.
I am trying out a new challenge blog today. It is a christmas blog. You can visit it here.... http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/sentiment-as-focal-point.html
Every challenge is a Christmas challenge. What a great way to get Christmas cards ready year round. This weeks challenge is Christmas Blog Sentiment as a Focal Point
Here is what I created....
To create this card I started with a Merry Christmas sentiment from Viva Las Vegas stamps. I stamped this on blue mirror card in versa mark. I then used silver embossing powder and my heat gun to emboss it. Mirror card embosses well. The sentiment was cut using a spellbinders die set as well as the layer underneath. The snowflake is dsp and the dark blue under my focal point is a textured type of paper/fabric. Very rich looking. Three polar bear images from third coast designs were added to the top of the sentiment panel. To further embellish this card I added holly flourish die cuts that were cut from a Cheery Lynn die. A pearl sprig and rolled flower top this card off.
Here is a close-up of my sentiment and bears.
This was a fun challenge!
Happy Scraps,
Mrs. Swanddog
