Good Morning Ladies,
Posting in the morning again. Later in the morning, but still morning.
It is my Dad's 80th birthday today. So that is the main thing on my agenda for the day!
While I am waiting to go see him I have created a card for Joan's Challenge Bird Branch today.
You can see and enter the challenge here... http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/05/this-weeks-challenge_31.html
The requirements are....
Use a bird theme
Use a branch and leaves
Use blue on your card
Use a frame
Without further delay here is my card....
All the dies used for this card were purchased at Joan's. The yellow card stock is glitter. It does not show in the photo well, but gives it that extra pop. For my blue I have backed the frame with a blue patterned paper from the old world stack DCWV. I used the mediterranean lace rectangle frame die from Cheery Lynn Designs. This was cut using a white embossed stripe card stock. My branch is the woodland branch die from Memory Box. This branch has no leaves on it. I added leaves using the olive branches die from Cheery Lynn Designs. I cut the leaves off of this branch die and added them to my brown branch. I used them whole at the bottom of my card for leaves for my flower. The flower is from creative impressions. I added three pearls for the center of the flower. My bird bath is a repeat impressions stamped image that I colorized with prisma pencil and gamsol. I hand cut the bird bath out. My three little birds are cut using the Nestled Bird die from Poppy Stamps. I thought that the cat from the screen door w/cat die from Cheery Lynn Designs was perfect for this bird scene. To top this card off I used pearls in the top corners.
What a fun challenge! I love how the dies from different companies work so well together. I am hooked on the dies over at Joan's. She gets them all, so the sky's the limit on which dies to purchase.
Thanks Joan and Selma for making my week more beautiful!
Enjoy you Saturday!
Happy Scraps,
Mrs. Swandog

This would be a fitting bday card for dad. Nature at it's finest. Love all the details. That bird bath is awesome. Thanks for the inspiration.
Oh Lori this is so dang cute! LOVE the blue sky background and the yellow birds are adorable (gold finch I assume, lol). But they'd better watch out for that cat hiding in the corner! AWESOME job my friend! Have a fabulous weekend!
I love the way you used the background, it's a gorgeous card.
Very cute having the cat glare at the birds. Love the bird bath. Nancy Hill
