Gel Press and French Fries Art Journal

Good Morning Ladies,
There must have been quite a bit of rain last night. There has been some this morning. The dogs came in with muddy paws. Oh what a mess!
The project for today is Gel Press and French Fries Art Journal
So this is my second two page spread ever. Hopefully I am getting the hang of this. I do know I am having fun. The background was the inspiration for this spread. It was created with the Gel Press. I used yellow and orange Dylusions paint on the Gel Press. I then used a comb to put lines into the design. I used the packaging from the new combs I bought to impress the square designs into the Gel Press. This was a third pull using deli paper. I am loving the deli paper pulls. With the added paint from the brayer lots of strong color gets pulled in. I finger painted the background journal pages with the same yellow and orange. This time I laid the deli paper down with Yes paste. Oh yes before I glued the deli paper down I used a Diane Wakley stencil and glimmer mist to create the honeycomb pattern. The french fries in the boxes, the single french fries, as well as the sentiment are from The Stamps of Life.
A close-up of the sentiment with a sketchy box around it.

Truest Happiness

Good Morning Ladies,
It is cold outside this again this morning. I am ready for warm weather and sunny days.
The card for today is Truest Happiness
This card was created using an Inky Antics clear set. The dog and cat were stamped on watercolor paper and colorized with watercolors. The sentiment was then stamped. I got out my washi tape and used a paw print tape instead of ribbon. I have to remember to use washi tape more.
The inside sentiment is from the Stamps of Life.

Happy Birthday To You Vintage German Embossed Fairies

Good Morning Ladies,
I had a great Easter. I went to my Mom's house. Then it was off to my sister's house. I ended the day training dogs with friends. I couldn't ask for a better day.
The card for today is Happy Birthday To You Vintage German Embossed Fairies
Yes I am still playing with the Gel Press plate. There are many things to explore with it. This time around I used a comb to add lines. The package the combs came with had a plastic piece to hold the product in that was nine squares. So I pressed that on and it gave me a wonderful look. The paints were Dylusions. The musical background paper was stippled with yellow and orange dye inks. The vintage German embossed cut of the fairies seemed to work with this background. Perfect for a Birthday card. The sentiment on the front was hand written. The music notes came from a Spellbinders die.
A close-up of the sentiment.

Gel Press First Art Journal Spread

Good Morning Ladies,
Happy Easter!!! The sun is bright this morning. Looks to be a great day.
My project for today is Gel Press First Art Journal Spread
Yes I took the dive and started to art journal. The Gel Press made me do it. LOL
So this is my first two page spread. I am using the Dylusions large art journal. Do I know what I am doing? Mostly not, but I had a lot of messy fun. My third pull from the Gel Press is always with deli paper so far. So I thought what do I do with that piece of background? It hit me...Art Journal! The center piece of this spread is that 3rd pull from the Gel Press. I laid it down with US Art Quest Perfect Paper Adhesive. PPA for short. I use a baby wipe to clean up the Gel Press and tools I use. I saved it of course and said why not use that too. So I cut it up into four pieces and added that next. I painted the background with my fingers with acrylic paint.  The panel with the ladies on the sea is an image from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. The panel is watercolor paper. They were stamped in Archival and colorized with watercolors. It was laid down next. The words by the sea are from a Graphics 45 pad. The Just Be is from a CTMH clear set. For the final step I took a Dylusions stencil and stenciled the circles in with my finger and acrylic paint. This piece was too much fun.

Gel Press Live Out Loud

Good Morning Ladies,
The weekend has arrived. I have laundry to do today. So in between loads I can create! I also will be making a quick trip to the Co-op Shoppes to take some new things in.
The card for today is Gel Press Live Out Loud
Yes I am loving the Gel Press. It has so many unique options that I can't get enough of it.
This is a first pull from the Gel Press. I decided to try and use craft card for the pull. It worked great. The craft card curled a bit but nothing that couldn't be straightened out with ease. Once again I used the Dylusions paint. I used a Dylusions stencil on the Gel Press. And once again I used a paper towel to pull paint with the stencil laid down. Once this dried I used another Dylusions stencil to create the blue edge. This time I applied the paint with my finger. The Diane Wakely person stamp was stamped using Archival Ink. The sentiment is from a CTMH set. A white Signo pen was used to outline the squares of the blue stencil part and to outline the word loud.
The inside sentiment is from the same CTMH set.

Graphics 45 Wish On A Starfish

Good Morning Ladies,
I couldn't believe my eyes last night when I got out of dog training and it was snowing. Of course it didn't stick but it was still cold enough to snow.
The card for today is Graphics 45 Wish On A Starfish
This card was created using the Graphics 45 pad By The Sea. The lady, border, and lighthouse were cut from the main page. They edges were inked with brown. They were arranged on a printed mat from the same pad. The sentiment was cut from one of the calling cards from the pad.

The puppy was added using a Sheena Douglass stencil and black dye ink. I did not know how it would work over the brick wall. But it worked out great and looks like a shadow.

Well I had a full nights rest and am ready to go this morning. As long as I make it till tonight to go to agility training all will be well.
The card for today is Wing In A Sling
The background was created using the Gel Press and a Joggles mask. In fact it is the second pull from the shadow box background. The second pull gives a total different effect. The image and sentiment is from Cracker Box Palace. These were stamped on watercolor paper. The bird was colorized using watercolors. They were then cut with a Sizzix thin-lits circle set and inked around the edge. A ribbon bow tops this card off.

Gel Press and CTMH Chemistry

Good Morning Ladies,
I am having too much fun with the Gel Press.
The card for today is Gel Press and CTMH Chemistry
This background is a second pull from the Gel Press. My choice for paint was still Dylusions paint in two colors. This time I used a Dylusions stencil and a paper towel to clear and add texture. The stamp set I chose was the chemistry from CTMH. I purchased this set from Kathy Anderson. The circles were cut from a Sizzix thin-lits set. You can't see it in the photo but crystal accents were used for the liquid in the containers.
The inside sentiment is from a clear set from the Stamps of Life.

Gel Press Background Shadow Box

Good Morning Ladies,
I can't believe it is Monday already. The weekend flew by. I was busy, busy, busy.
The project for today is Gel Press Background Shadow Box
I decided to show you the panel that was created out of the shadow box first. The last picture is the panel in the shadow box. This Gel Press background was my first attempt at the Gel Press. Two colors of Dylusions paint were added to Gel Press using a palette knife. I then used a hard rubber brayer to spread the paint around I placed a flower mask from Joggles over the paint and dabbed it with a paper towel to remove some of the paint but also to leave some texture. Holographic card stock from Create and Craft covers the backing board of the shadow box. Next was the Gel Press panel. The Basset Hound is a 3-D punch out from The Memory Cellar. The large flower was created using the daisy die from Fun Stampers Journey. The other flowers are from Prima with brads for centers. The dragonfly gems are from my stash. The rope dog toy was made using kitchen twine.
A shot of the 3-D dog.
This is the panel in the shadow box. The frame came unfinished. It was colorized using purple Dylusions ink spray that was brushed on.

Good Morning Ladies,
The dogs are in rare form this morning. Running in and out. Windy will not let me get by with putting her off.
The card for today is  Yorkie Let's Meet For A Treat
Let's talk about the background. This background was created using a piece of Tattered Lace double sided sticky paper. It was attatched to a piece of black card stock. A stencil from Joggles was placed over it. Gilding flakes were then pushed on top and a piece of scootchy foam was used to burnish it into to the sticky parts. The stencil was removed and Holographic glitter was rubbed into the remaining sticky parts. The Yorkie is a 3-D punch out that is layered with foam dots. A sheer purple ribbon was added to the bottom. The 3-D pieces were purchased from the Memory Cellar and gilding flakes can be purchased there also.
A side view of the layered yorkie.
