Joan's Challenge Fall Card

Good Afternoon Ladies,
Happy Halloween! Posting for the second time today. I know very rare. I have created a card for Joan's Challenge Fall Card . I almost let this one slip past. But alas I have finished it in time to enter. You can see the challenge by clicking this link http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/10/this-weeks-challenge_25.html
The challenge requirements are as follows...
Create a fall card
Use a border
Use leaves
Use a window or a door
Here is my card.....
To create this card I used the small poppy stamp window die and window box die. I bought this at Joan's sometime ago but had not used it yet. This challenge required me to break these dies open and use them. I added moss in the window box and prima flowers. The flower box is popped up to hold the moss and flowers. I added Graphics 45 dsp as wallpaper inside the window. The window is also popped up from the wall paper. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the border that the turkey stands on. The turkey is a Mostly Animals image. This company has long gone out of business. I wish they were still around I love their stamps. Anyway the turkey is stamped on bristol board and colorized with prisma pencil and gamsol. For my leaves I used silk fall leaves. Autumn days is stamped below the window. The dies can be purchased at Joan's Gardens.
This is a close-up of my window.
This is a side view of my window so you can see the popping.
This is the inside of my card.
Thanks for another great challenge Joan and Selma!

Happy Birthday Elephant

Good Morning Ladies,
Wow! What a cold windy day yesterday was. I warmed right up in the evening though. Dave started a fire in the fireplace. It was the first one of the season. It did feel good. I am looking forward to having many more before next spring arrives.
Today I am sharing with you my Happy Birthday Elephant card.....
A simple but cute card. The elephant is from Peachy Keen Stamps. I stamped him on Bristol board and colorized him with Prisma pencil and gamsol. He was then cut with a spellbinder set using the next sized die in the set to mat him. Placed on grey card stock for the front of the card base. I sheer white ribbon was attached to the bottom. A spellbinder set was used to create the Happy Birthday sentiment piece.
This is the inside of the card.
Stay warm...Stay safe...

Flock of Sheep Domino Pin

Good Morning Ladies,
I was gone this weekend cropping away. Well ...I was stamping away. There was good friend and good food. I had a great time. Mom went too. It's nice to get away from it all and spend time with friends you haven't seen for awhile.
I have a creation for you today.... Flock of Sheep Domino Pin ...here it is....
I have been playing with dominoes in an artsy way lately. It is quite fun. To create this pin I took a domino and colorized it with alcohol inks by ranger. I stamped the flock image on bristol board and colorized it with prisma pencil and gamsol. I then hand cut the sheep out. I glued them onto the domino with 3 in one glue. I then cover the whole thing with crystal laquer. I attached a pin back to the back of the domino.

Inky Antics Dog Thinking of You

Good Morning Ladies,
I know I have been bad about keeping up on things here on the blog. Fall is much busier than I thought. Fall used to be my slowing down time. But now it seems it is as busy as summer.
I do have a card for you today... Inky Antics Dog Thinking of You
To create this card I started with a DCWV scalloped match book card. I used a spellbinder set to create the layers and the sentiment pieces. The stamps are from Inky Antics. It is a clear set. The dog is colorized with prisma pencil and gamsol. He is hand cut and popped up.
This is the inside sentiment.

I then stamped them in black staz-on using Martha Stewart clear stamps. My rolled flowers are created using a memory box die. I added moss around the flowers to give this coffin the creepy look.

Here is my project Halloween domino wreath....
To create this wreath I started with a twig wreath. I added a black raven to the center with some moss under his feet. I wrapped the wreath with ribbon. I created four dominoes for this project. To create my dominoes I used alcohol inks by ranger in butterscotch and terra cotta. My stamped image are by Tim Holtz. I stamped them on bristol board and colorized them with Spica pens. I then adhered them to the dominoes with beacon 4 in 1 glue. Once they were affixed I covered them in crystal laquer.

Poe inspired Raven

Good Morning Ladies,
I have no big plans for today. Hanging with my dogs and creating I guess. A nice restful Saturday.
Today I bring you my Poe inspired Raven ....
I started with the raven I purchase. I purchased him because he was so inspiring. He sits on a florist block that I painted black. I attached a piece of Graphics 45 card stock to the bottom of the block. Then I started to build this up. I added excelsior under the raven's feet. I added moss on top of that. I then added the beaded florist sprigs. On top of those I placed the twig balls. They are black and lightly glittered. To the bottom I added moss and rolled flowers created with the same Graphics 45 card stock. I cut them with a memory box die.
 A close-up of the flowers.
A close up of the twig balls.
Have a happy Saturday!

Floral Cross Ornament

Good Morning Ladies,
The mornings are chilly that's for sure. The dogs are loving it compared to the heat of the summer we had. Spunky and frisky they are!
I told you I would bring you more ornaments. Here is a Floral Cross Ornament
To create this ornament I started with a paper mache' base. I painted it with cream acrylic paint and then sprayed it with gold smootch. I created rolled flowers using a memory box die. The flowers were created out of white card stock and then sprayed with the gold smootch. I added gold glitter leaves and pearl sprigs. The front and the back of this ornament are decorated the same.
A side view of the flowers.

Parasol Ladies Box

Good Morning Ladies,
It is chilly out this morning. I took the dogs out to play. They had a great time and are now resting in their crates as they are very dirty dogs! I guess a dirty dog is a happy dog.
I have something a little different for you today. Parasol Ladies Box
This is a smaller box. Perfect to give a gift in. Something special that needs its own place for keeping. A little of old world style in this modern world. To create this I started with a plain pine box with hinges and a latch. I painted it cream and sponged light green on it. To the top I added a doily. Then I added the parasol ladies from Graphics 45. Parasol charms seemed to be the ticket to finish the top of the box. I then sprayed the whole thing with a gold shimmer mist.
This is the front of the box. I added beaded trim all the way around the box.
This box will be offered at the co-op shoppes starting today.

Joan's Challenge Winter Scene Boxer

Good Morning Ladies,
It's Friday already. This week has flown by. I was busy out every night. I still created everyday. It keeps me relaxed and grounded in this crazy busy world.
Yesterday I created a card for the challenge this week over at Joan's. Here is the link to the challenge http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/10/this-weeks-challenge.html
The requirements are as follows....
Create a winter scene
Use a stamp
Use a die
Use a tree
Here is my take on Joan's Challenge Winter Scene Boxer ...
Scene stamping is one of my favorites. So this challenge was right up my alley. I started with a piece of bristol board to create my scene on. I stamped the tree from a Heartfelt Creations set from Joan's. I colorized it with prisma pencil, gamsol, and stickles. I then stamped snowflakes with faded jeans distressed ink. I added the die cut lamp post using a cheery lynn die. My iron fence was cut using a memory box die. I cut it two times for the length of my card. At the bottom of my scene I created ice/snow using crystal laquer and diamond dust. I then created my boxer dog. I stamped him three times on bristol board and colorized him with prisma pencil and gamsol. I cut him out layering as I went with pop tape and pop taped him onto the card.
This is a view to show the layers of the boxer.
What a great challenge Selma and Joan! The dies, Tim Holtz ink and heartfelt creations stamps can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/

Siberian Husky Ornament

Good Morning Ladies,
Thursday is here and I have so much to do today. Wow! I am getting ready for the dog show at Trail Creek Dog Training here in La Porte. I am not showing my dog this time. I know surprise, surprise. Instead I have a vender space. I will be selling my handcrafted cards, ornaments and other creations. So I have been working on dog ornaments.
Here is my Siberian Husky Ornament ....
This ornament is the same front and back. I started with a paper mache' ornament base. I then added Martha Stewart christmas design series metallic highlighted card stock with christmas trees. I stamped the dog on bristol board and colorized him with prisma pencil and gamsol. He was then handcut and added. I used crystal laquer to add diamond dust under the dog's paws for snow.
Ribbons grace the top of this ornament to which I have tied metal paw print charms to.
The sides are glittered all the way around.
A wonderful original gift for a dog loving friend or a Christmas treat for yourself!
I am having a great time making dog ornaments. Look for more to come in the next couple of days.
Stop by the dog show and check it out. http://www.trailcreekdogtrainingclub.com/home.php You can find the address of the club here.

Joan's Challenge Designer Series Paper

Good Afternoon Ladies,
I did not think I would make it this week for Joan's Challenge Designer Series Paper. But I created my card last night and am ready to share it with all of you.
The requirements are....
Use a piece of design paper for the background
Use a 3-D flower
Use a flourish
Use a sentiment
You can check out the challenge here http://www.atjoansgardens.com/2012/09/this-weeks-challenge_27.html
Here is my entry....
The piece of paper I chose worked well. It already had the sentiment printed on it. I kept it simple. I added a cheery lynn corner flourish and a handmade flower created using a spellbinder die. For a little extra boost I added faux rhinestones at the bottom of the card.

Coffin Candy Container

Good Afternoon Ladies,
I know I have not posted since last Thursday. I was gone at a dog seminar this past weekend. It has taken me this long to get it together since I came back.
When I left I had painted coffins. Well one is finished. Coffin Candy Container ... and here it is....
This coffin started life as a plain paper mache' coffin. I painted it with black acrylic paint and edged it with a metalic deco pen. I then added a fae cat and bats to the lid.
Inside on the bottom is a skeleton.
This is the top and bottom side by side...
And I filled it with gummy body parts.
Happy scraps,
Mrs. Swandog
